I think maybe I should have specified in my last entry that the women I was referring to are the wives of the astronauts. I think I might have ruffled Barnaby's (The Janitor) feathers a little by saying how women were only a side note in the story. He thought I meant female astronauts, but then Frank and I are discussing how few female astronauts there are in comparison to male ones. I won't keep dwelling on this topic, but the book in the below entry is one to read, even though there are definite downsides from the exclusion of the wives of the astronauts role in the story.

All I can add to this somewhat pointless discussion is that it seems quite apparent that astronauts' husbands have also got pretty short shrift down through the ages - left in their wives' dust as it were.
