This will be my last post until I return from the American Booksellers Association's Winter Institute in Kentucky. I will be flying out on Thursday and returning on Sunday, hopefully full of new ideas for the bookshop. I'm going to hear many authors speak and have the opportunity of meeting them. The whole thing is very exciting and scary. This won't be the first time I've traveled by myself, but it has been quite a while since I've been anywhere on a plane. I'm really excited for the educational programming and hopefully will learn a lot of things that I can bring back and apply to the bookshop.

The current changes here are going to get some taking used to. I have yet to master the phone system, but to be honest, it is a lot easier than that last one. The new ring is also an easier tone to listen to than the last one. It is actually quite soothing. We are slowly getting used to the new point of sales system, Anthology, so please be patient with us! That is one of the reasons we are having a sale this week, so that people will not mind us being a little slow or when we have technical difficulties. I hope that everyone stops in to take advantage of it. It is 20% off regularly priced books, which as one customer stated, "It's like early bird!" I will be back in next Tuesday.

I just read the Lincoln County News article about the reopening and sale. The article never mentioned WHY you were closed so I was imagining all sorts of dire reasons and am so glad it's for an upgrade. Congratulations on your new system.
As a PFA, I find your newsletter, photos and blog really help to keep me connected to where my heart is - the coast of Maine.
THANKS!
